Creamy tofu cooked in Tahini sauce

Extra Firm tofu cooked in a creamy sauce. For this recipe, I used Tahini sauce for the creaminess. This recipe is vegan and it is full of so many Asian inspired flavors. Its both sweet and spicy and you can enjoy with plain rice or in my case I enjoyed it with rice noodles.

RECIPE:

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Remove tofu from packaging, pat dry. Cut tofu in bite size pieces and slightly fry in a medium sauce pan , make sure to get them golden on each side. This will help the tofu hold when you combine with the sauce . Once done, set aside.

  2. In a mixing bowl, add tahini sauce, soy sauce, garlic chili sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, vegetable stock

  3. In a medium pan, add in 1 tbsp sesame oil, add in your dried chili, ginger, and Sautee your bell pepper just until they are tender.

  4. Add in your sauce mixture and stir everything well until well Incorporated and it is smooth and let cook for about 2-3 minutes on medium heat. Add in your Tofu and gently combine , Taste for seasoning, add salt if needed. If sauce seems not as saucy to your liking than add in a little bit more of the vegetable stock. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds or chili flakes (optional)

  5. Enjoy with rice or noodles!
