Tofu Stir Fry

Homemade restaurant style tofu stir fry that is irresistible


Delicious and nutritious tofu stir fry recipe that is so simple, easy and quick to make. This tofu stir fry is so easy and requires simple recipes to make.

My tofu stir fry recipe is loaded with vegetables and cooked in a sweet and spicy sauce that is irresistible and not to mention it is also vegan friendly.

For this particular stir fry I added broccoli , red bell pepper, zucchini, mushrooms and garnished with green onions. You can also add in more vegetables or substitute some of the vegetables in this recipe to ones you desire.


RECIPE:



INSTRUCTIONS:


  1. Remove tofu from packaging and pat dry with paper towel. Make sure to get as much water out. Cut tofu into bite size pieces and slightly fry in a medium sauce pan with about 1-2 tbsp of oil , make sure to get them golden on each side. This will help the tofu hold when you combine with the sauce . Once done, set aside.

  2. Cut red bell pepper and zucchini into cubes, roughly chop mushrooms or keep whole if desired, cut broccoli into desired size (preferably bite size pieces) and set aside.

  3. In a mixing bowl, add in your low sodium soy sauce, Sriracha sauce, rice vinegar, vegetable stock , corn starch and brown sugar. Mix well and make sure that the corn starch is well mixed.

  4. In a medium pan, add in 1-2 tbsp sesame oil, add in mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, broccoli, 1/4 tsp ground black pepper and 1/2 tsp ground chili powder, and add dried chili, ginger, garlic and sautee your bell pepper, zucchini, broccoli, and mushrooms until tender.

  5. Now add in your tofu, sauce mixture and gently combine everything well until well Incorporated and let cook for about 2 minutes on medium heat or until sauce thickens. Taste for seasoning, If sauce seems a little on the dry side add in a lit bit more vegetable stock or soy sauce. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Add additional salt if desired.

  6. Enjoy with rice!

RECIPE:

This recipe serves about 4 people

INGREDIENTS:
2 tbsp canola oil or sesame oil and extra for frying 
3 garlic cloves minced or grated
1/2 tsp of grated ginger
2 dried red chili peppers (optional)
salt to taste
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp ground chili powder

1 lb Firm Tofu ( dried and cut into bite size pieces)
2 red bell pepper
1 zucchini
1 8 oz pack of mushrooms or about 1 1/2 - 2 cups of mushrooms or desired amount
2 cups of roughly chopped broccoli or desired amount 
3 spring of green onions
Sauce
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
3 tbsp vegetable stock
1/2 - 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce 
1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
